Proven Match

July 2017 News Round-Up

Just as fast as the summer is heating up, it’s also flying by quicker than you realize. July was a red-hot month for franchisor activity and Proven Match is here to bring you all the highlights you may have missed. Let’s get to it:

KFC Takes it Up a Notch

In an effort to utilize any means necessary to get their brand message across, KFC has come up with an inventive and memorable idea—by opening a tongue-in-cheek online merchandising store. If you think about it, it’s an ingenious way to continue getting your message out and literally counts as a form of advertising! Located at, the site offers users the chance to shop for some creative merchandise including a KFC-themed romance novel (we checked, it exists), sweatshirts and fried chicken-themed socks. You can even buy a replica string tie, as seen around the neck of Col. Sanders. Only $12.00. All in all, we pronounce this effort a deep-fried marketing success!

IFA’s NextGen Project

If you haven’t heard about this fantastic initiative from the International Franchise Association, the NextGen Project is a global competition accepting a new round of industry leader applicants needing a boost to take their ideas public in consideration of a franchising opportunity. It’s all about finding the next generation of talent to expand franchising’s frontiers. According to their news release, entrepreneurs between 21-35 years old who’ve been in business for 1-5 years with the potential to scale through franchising are encouraged to apply. The deadline is September 1, 2017, and winners will be notified in October and must attend the IFA’s convention in Phoenix from Feb. 10-13, 2018.
